Volunteer Fingerprinting

The Archdiocese of Washington requires that all school employees and volunteers be fingerprinted and pass a criminal background investigation before having any contact with children in the school. In addition, all employees and volunteers must attend a “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” educational workshop.

Each volunteer must send proper documentation of the above requirements to their child's school. Proper documentation includes a copy of the fingerprinting and criminal background investigation results and a signed acknowledgement form provided at the child protection workshop, 'Protecting God's Children for Adults'

Fingerprinting and Criminal Background Investigation

The Archdiocese of Washington provides FBI/state criminal background investigation and live scan fingerprinting services for employees and volunteers of Archdiocesan locations. Fingerprinting is by appointment only.

Please note: The State of Maryland and FBI assess a charge of $36 per volunteer for processing completed Criminal History Record Checks. Checks or money orders must be payable to C.J.I.S. (cash will not be accepted). Signed authorization form and photo I.D. required.
